Have You Voted For Sarah Jane Or Rose??

WHO’S THE GREATEST ‘WOMAN OF DOCTOR WHO’ EVER? THE VOTES ARE IN…

UPDATED: With BBC AMERICA premiering the original Women of Doctor Whospecial tonight (Saturday, August 11 at 9/8c), we decided to put the question “Who’s the Greatest Women of Doctor Who…ever?” up to a vote. More than 200,000 people cast their ballots in our week-long tournament, and fans whittled down a field of eight companions down to a final two: Rose Tyler vs.Sarah Jane Smith. And by a vote of 57 percent to 43 percent, the companion voted the Greatest Woman of Doctor Who is…

(This is really sucks!)

Yes, Rose Tyler (played by actress Billie Piper), companion to the Ninth and Tenth Doctors, was picked as the ultimate woman of Doctor Who by a decent margin. Anglophenia’s Fraser McAlpine explained the importance of Rose inhis profile of her last year: “As much as Russell T Davies and the Ninth Doctor combined, Rose is the person who resurrected Doctor Who the show, because she represents the fans who loved it and wanted it to come back better. She not only healed the emotional wounds of the Doctor himself, she healed ours too, allowing the show to return in triumph, not limp out with all the same tired old gags, for a wheezy victory lap.”
Sarah Jane’s substantial showing demonstrated the fondness many fans still have for the iconic classic companion, who was brought back for several episodes in the modern series and was rewarded with her own successful spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures. (The actress who played Sarah Jane, the luminous Elisabeth Sladen, passed away in 2011.) Of Ms. Smith, Fraser wrote, “It’s safe to say that had Elisabeth Sladen lived, she’d still be appearing inDoctor Who episodes from now until one of their many Ends Of Time finally finishes things off for good. And that’s because Sarah Jane kept going too. Of all the Doctor’s companions, she’s the one who, rather than sitting back to reminisce over her time as a space traveler, would clearly continue in the same adventurous vein for as long as the Earth was imperiled.”
Interestingly, among British voters, Sarah Jane Smith defeated Rose 61 percent to 39 percent, while U.S. voters picked Rose 58 percent to 42 percent.
Meanwhile, Donna Noble eviscerated Fourth Doctor companion Leela 79 percent to 21 percent.
For an in-depth look (with clips) at all of the Doctor’s companions, check out our profiles. And download 13 great “Women of Doctor Who” episodes on iTunes.

I wonder who's the big doofus around here set up this anti-Sarah Jane Smith thing? Why Rose?? Why her??  She always jump on the Doctor so many times??    I got my vote is Sarah Jane Smith!   She's the one and only companion who went from "old Who" to "Nu Who" and later her own show Sarah Jane Adventures.   But, sad, sad day for the Sladenites Fans!
I wonder if Lis found out about this poll, she would turned over her grave if she see this thing!

If Elisabeth Sladen was alive again, a bolt of thunder cloud would come down and hit Rose on the head!!!!

THAT WILL DO TO ROSE, THAN SHE DID WITH CLYDE!!!

We All Most Lost "The Medusa Cascade" Website!

Over a week ago we all most lost the favorite screencap website "The Medusa Cascade".  Now it's back online again.  Here's the rest of the info of the website itself:

Welcome back to The Medusa Cascade!

As you can see, we’re still getting things in order around the site since our recent loss of data. If all goes well, we hope to open the gallery once more on June 21 (though there will likely only be screencaps and not of every episode that has aired to date) and have everything as up to date and back in order as possible by our four year anniversary on July 28!
With the closing of our former webhost without any prior warning to us, we were left without a recent working back up (the most recent working one we had was from 2010) and as such we have lost a lot of what made our site great including all of our news posts and the over 400,000 images in our gallery. Luckily we can rebuild our gallery as we are doing right now, but the old news posts are gone. Thanks to Google’s cache feature and having old versions saved on my old computer, we were able to get most of our pages back as they were before. You may find broken links around the site as we continue to recreate all of them but that should be finished within the next couple days. There are also some which need to be updated and we will do this as soon as possible.
While  the gallery is still closed, we recommend you go through all of your bookmarks/favorites which include links to our gallery and delete all except the main page. Since we had to rebuild the gallery from scratch, most links will redirect you to something other than what you had previously bookmarked for easy access. There are a few which are the same other than the main page, but this will really be down to coincidence more than anything else. You do not need to delete any pages of the main site you have bookmarked (with the exception of news posts) as all of the pages’ links are still the same thanks to our naming pattern.
Due to having to rebuild our site from scratch, there will likely be very few updates and new features added to the site for awhile though, as always, feel free to visit our LiveJournal and leave us some suggestions for when we have the time! You can also reach us via our Twitter, though with its lack of archiving, LiveJournal is the best for things that don’t need to/won’t be dealt with right away.
Thank you, as always, for visiting and supporting The Medusa Cascade – especially as we continue to rebuild – we truly appreciate it!

If you want to see the rest you go to this site at: http://the-medusa-cascade.com/ . While it's still under construction. They will be back on the 21 of June 2012 on Thursday.   Thank you!

Elisabeth Sladen's Birthday

On this sad but rather small occasion we're celebrating the 66th Birthday of Elisabeth Sladen. For those who remember the actress past away last year back in April 19, 2011 from cancer. Now it's time to remember her as she was an actress in Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures. So Happy 66 Birthday Elisabeth Sladen!

Who The Original Sarah Jane Actress??

Okay we need get this straight so far. For the first time in Doctor Who history that day will never come when a unknown actress was almost become the next companion after Katy Manning. This quite disturbing when it over 39 years and you still haven't a clue! Before there was Elisabeth Sladen there was actress April Walker the "Original Sarah Jane Smith" character. It' been kept secret about 39 years has finally reviled. According to the reports of different websites including (http://www.doctorwhonews.net/ tells different story which is in the dark for long time. But, there's one website you might get a glimpse of the story so here it is:      Read the full story at Tardis Base:

One of Doctor Who's oldest mysteries has today been answered! Some of you may or not know that Elisabeth Sladen wasn't the first choice to play Sarah Jane, and she actually replaced the original actress very near to filming starting on Doctor Who's eleventh series.

For many years, it's been a mystery who this woman was, but it has finally been revealed to have been April Walker. Her name was discovered when David Brunt was checking the BBC files for the Production Notes of the DVD release of Invasion of the Dinosaurs and found her name on an old memo.
The story goes that Barry Letts was looking for a replacement for Katy Manning, who was leaving the series, when Lets met April Walker. She soon after signed contracts to become the new companion, but it soon appeared it wasn't going to work out as Jon Pertwee thought they had no chemistry together (and he apparently said she was 'too tall', 'too busty' and 'too dominant').

Barry Letts then found Elisabeth Sladen and the rest is history. Jon Pertwee gave him his thumbs up, and she became the most popular companion in the history of the show. There are so many 'what-ifs' surrounding this story. What if April Walker became Sarah Jane? What would she have been like? Would she have had a similar impact? Would she still be so relevant today? Most likely not...

April Walker never broke through after Doctor Who, and instead have small roles in several shows such as Faulty TowersTwo RonniesMorecambe & Wise Show and Waking The Dead.
